Learn more about the history of Dubrovnik and the architecture of the Old Town on this 2 hour guided walking tour. There are five gates to the City of Dubrovnik. We are going to enter one of the two main entrances (the Pile Gate or the Ploče gate). You will learn how the ancient citizens of Dubrovnik (Gospari) used to live, and what was the secret of their survival among some of the mightiest conquerers and colonisers of Europe. That explains the reason why we had to defend our freedom six times in the last 150 years. As a testimony of our success in doing so, a flag of St. Blaise proudly hovers over the city walls with the word LIBERTAS (freedom) written on it.
